‘Earth X’ prequel set for January

Alex Ross, Jim Krueger and Velibor Stanojevic tell a new story set in the ‘Earth X’ universe.

Legendary comic artist Alex Ross will once again team with writer Jim Krueger for another “Earth X” story, this one a prequel to the previous trilogy. Velibor Stanojevic joins them on art for Marvels X.

The original Earth X trilogy, which included Earth X, Universe X and Paradise X, told the story of an alternate, dystopian Marvel Universe. In it, superpowers were commonplace after Black Bolt of the Inhumans released the Terrigen Mists on humanity, Captain America quit the Avengers after killing the Red Skull and Thor was a woman, among other changes.

Here’s how Marvel describes the limited series:

Marvels X will follow David, the last human being on Earth who lives in a world of monsters that would love to devour him. While these creatures see him only as prey, they’re his former neighbors. David has one hope: to get to New York, where Captain America and the rest of the heroes are.

Look for the first issue in January.
