Marvel has announced that they will release several comics digitally over the next two weeks, before they return to releasing print comics on May 27.
“These comics will only be available as digital comics for the time being,” they say on their website. “However, they will be available in print collections later this year for fans looking to add them to their Marvel bookshelves. More information about these comics will be shared at a later date.”
The comics being released digitally include:
- Ant-Man #4
- Avengers Of The Wastelands #4
- Ghost-Spider #9
- Ravencroft #4
- 2020 Ironheart #1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Black Cat Strikes #4
- Hawkeye: Freefall #5
- Star #4
It’s notable that for the most part, these are mostly later issues of miniseries that would be wrapping up soon in normal circumstances, with the exceptions being Hawkeye and Ghost-Spider, and, of course, the first issue of a two-part Ironheart series. Marvel’s release list for May 27 and beyond is fairly limited compared to what was planned to come out before the coronavirus hit, so perhaps this is a way to release content that may not have been released otherwise.
Update: Matt Rosenberg discusses the change as it related to Hawkeye:Freefall on Twitter.
