Ennis + Sharp team for new Batman Black Label miniseries

‘Batman: Reptilian’ kicks off in June.

Garth Ennis and Liam Sharp will bring a new terror to Gotham in the Black Label six-issue miniseries Batman: Reptilian.

“Me and my old mate Garth Ennis. Friends for over 30 years. Working together for the very first time,” Sharp posted on Twitter. “I’m so stoked!”

“It’s very Garth, but it’s not a comedy,” Sharp added. “Some dark humour though of course…”

According to the press release, the series will introduce a villain that even the other Gotham villains are afraid of — even more than Batman.

Here’s how DC describes the series: Gotham City is filled with murderous creatures who stalk the shadows–foul villains with murderous impulses who strike fear into the hearts of every man, woman, and child in the city. But what strikes fear into the hearts of those who terrorize the city? It used to be Batman, but something far more frightening than a mere man has begun stalking the shadows—and it’s after Gotham’s villains. How savage must a monster be to haunt the dreams of monsters?

The miniseries begins in June. Check out some preview pages and a variant cover by Cully Hamner for issue #1 below.

The first issue arrives in June.
