Check out a preview, courtesy of Nobrow.
The fine folks at Nobrow have shared a preview of one of their latest books, Nightlights by Bogotá-based cartoonist and puppeteer Lorena Alvarez, who has done work for BOOM!’s Adventure Time books as well as for Disney and Nickelodeon.
The story revolves around a little girl who creates imaginary (maybe?) friends out of the tiny lights that appear in her room, and the new student at school, Morpie, who seems to know something about them. According to reviews, it sounds creepier than it actually is, and as you’ll see below, the artwork is absolutely gorgeous.

Caleb Goellner and Buster Moody have been plugging away at their pay-what-you-want comic Task Force Rad Squad for several years now, in between their other work on titles like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Godzilla in Hell. Frank J. Barbiere and Chris Mooneyham’s pulp adventure set to return later this year.
It’s been almost two years since we last saw an issue of Frank J. Barbiere and Chris Mooneyham’s Five Ghosts, the story of a man named Fabian Gray who can call on the abilities of five well-known (and talented) ghosts. But it looks like that’s about to change:

New volume includes comics by Sally Jane Thompson, Cecil Castellucci and more.
The romance comics anthology Fresh Romance returned to Kickstarter this week, courtesy of the book’s new publisher Emet Comics.
Maytal Gilboa, CEO of Emet Comics, emailed backers of the first volume (of which I am one) on International Women’s Day to announce the new volume. “Fresh Romance was a romance anthology founded by Janelle Assellin in 2015 as a way to promote female and LGBT creators, and to showcase diverse stories about love,” she said. “Fresh Romance Volume 1 was a huge success, being published by Oni Press, and selling over 3,000 copies to devoted readers. When Janelle retired last year, she gave us her blessing to continue the series, and we’re doing everything in our power to make good on the promises that were made to everyone who rooted for this series to succeed.”
