The sequel to Sean Gordon Murphy’s Black label Batman title, ‘White Knight,’ arrives in July with a new subtitle, ‘Curse of the White Knight,’ and a series of 8-bit promotional videos.
Animated by Chris Fequiere, a new video will be released before each issue of the eight-issue series. Check out the first one:

DC Comics’ new Black Label imprint promises standalone, out-of-continuity comics from “top talent” like Frank Miller, John Romita Jr., Scott Snyder, Greg Capullo, John Ridley and many others — and it looks like we’ll see the first new output from the line in September.
DC revealed that Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo’s Batman: Damned miniseries will run for three bimonthly issues starting on Sept. 19. It will be followed by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.’s Superman: Year One three-issue miniseries in November, and John Ridley’s The Other History of the DC Universe, a seven-issue series, in December.

Named for artist Mike Mike Wieringo, the awards were presented over the weekend at the Baltimore Comic-Con.
The winners for the first-ever Ringo Awards were announced this weekend at the Baltimore Comic-Con. The awards are named for artist Mike Wieringo, who passed away in 2007.
The Ringos showed Skottie Young’s I Hate Fairyland some love, as the creator took home awards for Best Cartoonist and Best Humor Comic. March: Book Three by Congressman John Lewis, Andrew Aydin and Nate Powell continued to rack up accolades as it took home the awards for Best Non-fiction Comic Work and Best Original Graphic Novel. And Tom King, writer of Best Series winner The Vision, won for Best Writer. Other winners included Fiona Staples, Sean Murphy, Todd Klein, Laura Martin, Bloom County and Dean Haspiel’s The Red Hook.
The nomination process was open to anyone, while comic professionals voted on the final winners. Check out the full list of nominees below, with the winners in bold.

‘White Knight,” a new seven-issue miniseries by Sean Gordon Murphy, introduces a world where a cured Joker tries to go straight — but still has it in for the Dark Knight.
Punk Rock Jesus creator Sean Gordon Murphy will take on Batman and the Joker in a new seven-issue miniseries called White Knight. According to DC Comics, the story will feature “a massive cast of heroes and villains” and explore a world where a “cured” Joker goes after Gotham’s greatest threat — Batman.
“We know Joker’s a genius, we know he’s relentless, and we know he can play the crowd, so why not make him a politician?” Murphy said. “Why not strip away the psychosis (the thing that’s holding him back) and let him challenge Batman unimpeded? And to make it even scarier, what if he did it legally and without breaking any rules, so that Batman couldn’t stop him?”
