Nominees announced for the 2023 Hugo Awards

The winners will be announced in October.

The nominees have been announced for the 2023 Hugo Awards, which includes a “Best Graphic Story or Comic” category.

Presented annually since 1955, the Hugo Awards recognize the best science fiction in books, comics, movies, TV and more. The Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story has been awarded since 2009, with previous winners including volumes of Saga, Ms. Marvel, Girl Genius, Sandman: Overture, LaGuardia, Far Sector and Monstress, which is up for the award again this year.

Tai Pham, the Green Lantern that debuted in the pages of the Green Lantern: Legacy graphic novel, will return in 2022 in Green Lantern: Alliance.

Pham’s adventures will once again be told by Minh Lê and artist Andie Tong, as he once again comes face-to-face with his nemesis, Xander Griffin, but this time he’ll have some help from a new Kid Flash.

The Superman family of titles expands in July

Tom Taylor, John Timms, Grant Morrison, Mikel Janin and more tell new tales of the Man of Steel, the Woman of Tomorrow and the Son of Kal-El.

DC Comics has announces several changes to its Superman titles for this July, including the launch of three new titles.

Launching in July will be:

  • Superman: Son of Kal-El by Tom Taylor and John Timms, focusing on Jon Kent. It replaces the regular Superman title.
  • Superman and the Authority, a new miniseries by Grant Morrison and Mikel Janin.
  • The previously announced Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow miniseries by Tom King and Bilquis Evely.

DC announces ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’

Tom King, Bilquis Evely and Mat Lopes team up for a miniseries about Supergirl in space.

Today’s Infinite Frontier #0 from DC Comics not only announced a new IF miniseries for this summer, but also a new Supergirl series titled Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

The eight-issue miniseries will be written by Tom King, with artwork by Bilquis Evely and Mat Lopes. The story will take Supergirl and Krypto into space.
