Fresh from saving the Earth from being destroyed by the sun in Empyre, the Fantastic Four will get a much-needed vacation in a one-shot by new Iron Man scribe Christopher Cantwell and artist Filipe Andrade. It’s titled Fantastic Four: Road Trip, and it features family fun, a station wagon … and a Reed Richards experiment gone wrong.

Mail Call | DC announces more ‘Tales from the Dark Universe’

DC has announced two more one-shots for its Tales from the Dark Multiverse line: one that re-imagines Batman: Hush and one that puts a new twist on the already twisted-up Flashpoint.

November is Geoff Johns Month in the Dark Multiverse

New one-shots with even darker takes on ‘Blackest Night’ and ‘Infinite Crisis’ will arrive in November.

As revealed in their November solicitations, DC will release two more one-shots in their new “Tales from the Dark Multiverse” line.

The What If?-style one-shots re-imagine past DC storylines with “a twisted and terrifying spin.” In November, look for new takes on the Green Lantern event “Blackest Night” and the Justice League event series Infinite Crisis. Both events were written/spearheaded by Geoff Johns and were pretty dark in their own right.

DC announces ‘Tales from the Dark Multiverse’ one-shots

‘Batman:Knightfall’ and ‘The Death of Superman’ get twisted in new prestige format one-shots.

DC will revisit past tales and put “a twisted and terrifying spin” on them in a series of prestige one-shots under the title Tales from the Dark Multiverse. The first one will feature a retelling of the classic “Batman: Knightfall” storyline, while the second will focus on “The Death of Superman.”

Here’s how DC describes Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Batman: Knightfall, which will be released Oct. 16:

Co-written by Scott Snyder and Kyle Higgins, with art by Javier Fernandez and a cover by Lee Weeks, this one-shot takes place in a Gotham City 30 years after a broken Bruce Wayne failed to take back the mantle of the Bat. In his place arose Jean-Paul Valley, also known as Saint Batman. Under his iron rule, Saint Batman has turned Gotham into the city of his dreams – killing has become commonplace and criminals live in constant fear—all in the name of justice.

But just when all seems lost, a new hope for Gotham rises: The Son of Bane.
