Warning: This article spoils the season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead.
Hours after the brutal and controversial seventh season premiere of The Walking Dead aired, Jesse Chin decide to sell his autographed copy of The Walking Dead #100 on eBay.
The comic was signed by creator Robert Kirkman at the 2012 New York Comic Con with the message, “I’m Sorry For Killing The Asian Guy”.
Chin said he asked Kirkman in a “mock chastising way” to apologize for killing the Asian guy.
“He refused to apologize,” Chin recalls. “but he did it anyway because he’s a good sport and has a great sense of humor! Also being Asian, I’m not sure if he could tell if I was truly semi offended or not. I like when comic creators seem genuine. He definitely was one of those who were!”
I asked Chin why he’s selling this and other comics now. “I never thought I would sell my comics, but I’m a few years removed from being really into the hobby and I just think it’s sitting there wasted in my basement.”
Meanwhile, the Asian population in this post-apocalyptic zombie world drops down to zero.
