Drawn & Quarterly announced at Comic-Con this week plans to publish new editions of comics by Aline Kominsky-Crumb and Julie Doucet.
In the spring of 2018, D+Q will publish a new and expanded edition of Love That Bunch by Kominsky-Crumb with an afterword by comics scholar Hillary Chute. Love That Bunch was originally published by Fantagraphics back in 1990. Then in the fall, D+Q will release Dirty Plotte: The Complete Julie Doucet. Dirty Plotte started a series of minicomics in the late 1980s, then became one of the first comics D+Q published back in the early 1990s. Many of the comics were collected into the graphic novel My New York Diary.
“The comics of Aline and Julie were transformative game-changers whose importance and influence can not be overstated,” said D+Q Publisher Peggy Burns. “Their comics were astonishingly brutal, honest, funny and are as relevant today as they were when originally published.”
You can find previews of both over at Bustle.
