At Comic-Con International in San Diego today, Marvel revealed the details behind one teaser and delivered another at the same time.
X-Men Black, which seemed to be following in the footsteps of X-Men Blue, Gold, Red, etc., isn’t an ongoing series like the others. It’s a series of one-shots starring various X-Men villains that, most noticeably, will see legendary Uncanny X-Men writer Chris Claremont return to the franchise to write Magneto, while Chris Bachalo returns for Emma Frost.
Here’s a rundown of the one-shots:
- Magneto #1, by writer Chris Claremont and artist Dalibor Talajic
- Mojo #1, by writer Scott Aukerman and artist Nick Bradshaw
- Mystique #1, by writer Seanan McGuire and artist Scott Aukerman
- Juggernaut #1, by writer Robbie Thompson and artist Shawn Crystal
- Emma Frost #1, by writer Leah Williams and artist Chris Bachalo
In addition, Marvel also teased the return of Uncanny X-Men, the flagship title of the X-Men for decades before it was cancelled in 2017 and replaced by X-Men Blue and X-Men Gold. No crearive team or team members have been announced yet, but editor Jordan D. White did say they have a plan:
That’s right—this November, Uncanny X-Men returns! Not much I can saw right now… pic.twitter.com/arPvfwgHyG

…but let me just say you’re going to be very surprised where this is going.

Oh, also—we do have our creative team in place, anyone who says otherwise doesn’t know what they are talking about. 4 issues have been written and lots of pages are drawn.

You’ll know details when the time is right.

The new Uncanny X-Men title is set to debut in November, so I imagine it won’t be too long before the creative team and team members are revealed.
