During the Jim Lee & Friends panel in San Diego yesterday, DC’s publisher and CCO welcomed Milestone founder and legendary artist Denys Cowan to the stage to announce a second Static miniseries titled Static: Shadows of Dakota.
Vita Ayala and Nikolas Draper-Ivey will once again tell Virgil Hawkins’ story and introduce a villain called Ebon. Here’s a look at the cover:

Static is back! Though Virgil and his friends might have been able to stop the government’s off-the-books prison operations in Dakota, a powerful new threat lurks in the shadows. The mysterious Ebon is cutting a bloody swath through the underworld on a single-minded quest to find his brother. Against this backdrop of exploding violence, innocent people are finding themselves in the crossfire. The breakout creative team of Nikolas Draper-Ivey and Vita Ayala have returned to make Static’s life, and Dakota City, very complicated indeed—you’ve never felt shocks like these!

But Shadows of Dakota isn’t the only Static project DC/Milestone have in the works. There’s also the upcoming graphic novel, Static: Up All Night, which was announced back in May. It’s written by Lamar Giles with art by Paris Alleyne:
Finally, Lee and Cowan announced Milestone Generations, a documentary film directed by Justice A. Whitaker. It’s about the relaunch of Milestone Media and will air in HBO MAX starting July 29. Here’s a look at the trailer:
