Welcome to Can’t Wait for Wednesday, your guide to what comics and graphic novels are arriving this week.
I’ve pulled out some of the highlights for this week below, but for the complete list of everything you might find at your local comic shop and on digital this week, you’ll want to check out one or more of the following:
- Penguin Random House (Marvel + IDW + Dark Horse + more)
- Lunar Distribution (DC + Image + Mad Cave + more)
- ComicList (Pretty much all of the above)
- Amazon/Kindle new releases (digital comics)
As a reminder, things can change and what you find on the above lists may differ from what’s actually arriving in your local shop. So check with your retailer to see what’s arriving at their shop this week.

X-Men: Age of Revelation #0 (Marvel, $4.99): Marvel’s next X-Men event was just announced last week, but you won’t have to wait three months to get your first taste of it. Thanks to a stealth release, like they did for the Moon Knight relaunch last year, you can read the first chapter this Wednesday. Jed MacKay and Humberto Ramos team up for your first look at the Marvel Universe 10 years in the future, where Revelation, aka Doug Ramsey, rules the world as the heir of Apocalypse and has set up a new mutant paradise in the Eastern part of the United States. But it’s all built on a lie, and that lie will lead to rebellion (and a whole bunch of new titles taking the place of the current X-books).

Star Trek: Red Shirts #1 (IDW, $4.99): Anyone familiar with the original Star Trek TV show knows that the “Red Shirts” were the cannon fodder of the crew, sent on away missions with Captain Kirk, Spock and the rest, but rarely did they make it back alive. Now the original expendable crewmen and women get their own miniseries by writer Christopher Cantwell and artist Megan Levens. It finds group of them stranded on an ice planet filled with spies and deadly wildlife. Expect a high body count.

Post Malone’s Big Rig #1 (Vault Comics, $6.99): The popular singer teams with Adrian Wassel and Nathan Gooden for this first double-sized issue of a new series about Trucker, a former priest who drives a demon-slaying big rig in the battle against the forces of Hell.
“Big Rig is a crazy comic about three unlikely heroes battling wicked demons in medieval times using a massive 18-wheeler truck, and it’s pretty fucking awesome,” said Post Malone. So there you go …

Ghost Pepper #1 (Image Comics, $4.99): Ludo Lullabi and Adriano Lucas present the story of Loloi, a food truck driver who meets Ash, a super-strong warrior who can either save the world or destroy it.
Here’s a preview:
“After spending the past few years working on exciting worlds in video games and comics, I’m thrilled to finally share a universe of my own,” Lullabi said when the title was announced. “With Ghost Pepper, I wanted to tell a story that’s both explosive and full of heart—blending the energy of creators I grew up with, like Otomo and Shirow, with more recent inspirations. Huge thanks to Skybound, Ben, Adriano, and everyone who jumped on board this new adventure. I hope you’ll enjoy exploring this world as much as I’ve enjoyed bringing it to life.”

Catacomb of Torment #1 (Oni Press, $4.99): John Arcudi, Marguerite Bennett, Matt Kindt, Patrick Piazzalungo, David Lapham, Dan McDaid and more contribute to the first oversized issue in this new, ongoing anthology of EC Comics horror stories. In addition to new stories, this first issue will also included a restored, “classic” EC Comics tale.

Dread the Hall H (Image Comics, $6.99): The team behind last December’s horror-themed holiday anthology Dread the Halls (that’s it on Maria Wolf’s awesome cover there, being eaten by the zombie) comes Dread the Hall H, a reference to the notorious room at the San Diego Convention Center, Hall H, that hosts the biggest panels of the convention. As the preview below suggests, this is an anthology of comic convention horror stories — monster-filled stories, that is, not the other kind:
Contributors include Chris Ryall, Jordan Hart, Nelson Daniel, Piotr Kowalski, Jimmy Kucaj, Chris Anderson and more.

Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe #1 (Marvel, $4.99): Godzilla’s trip through the Marvel Universe in recent time-spanning one-shots culminates in a new five-issue miniseries by Gerry Duggan and Javier Garrón. In it, they pit the king of all monsters against just about everyone in the Marvel universe.
“Godzilla was as important to me as Marvel Comics growing up,” Duggan said. “My father enjoyed watching baseball on TV, and I would root for rain outs so the NYC stations would run a Godzilla movie. When I discovered that Godzilla had appeared in the Marvel Universe, I obsessively collected every issue. I can’t believe how lucky I am to be contributing to the tradition of Godzilla rampaging in the Marvel Universe.”

This Ends Tonight #1 (Image Comics, $4.99): It’s been a very long wait for this new comic by artist Jae Lee and co-writers Gerry Duggan, Kelvin Mao and Robert Windom — which is kind of ironic given the title. It was first announced back in 2023, and the three-issue miniseries follows two sisters as they fight their way across Vegas in a savage race to save their lives.

Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon: Nemesis #1 (Titan Comics, $4.99): I haven’t seen the Netflix movie, Rebel Moon, that this series is a prequel for; my dad’s review was basically, “You know I’ll sit through just about anything, but I couldn’t make it through this.” Which, ouch, dad! but also he watched it at my house so it sat in my “Continue Watching” queue for weeks before I finally deleted it. Anyway, this comic has something going for it that the movie didn’t, and that’s Gail Simone, who wrote it. She teams with artist Federico Bertoni for the origin story of Nemesis, the sword-wielding, cyborg assassin from the film.

Brain Damage (Fantagraphics, $29.99): Shintaro Kago’s latest collection of short stories is “rife with skin-crawling suspense, visceral body horror and pitch dark-humor,” and if you’re familiar with Dementia 21, you know that’s not hyperbole.
The four stories in this anthology include:
- “Labyrinth Quartet”: Four identical young women trapped in an eerie building must solve the mystery of why they’ve been gathered there — while being hunted by a knife-wielding stalker.
- “Curse Room”: A plucky health aide is tasked with keeping zombies peaceful, lest they go on a brain-eating rampage.
- “Family Portrait”: People throughout town are strangely disappearing without a trace, and the key to it all is a senile and perverted old man.
- “Blood Harvest”: A series of gruesomely mangled bodies are found in pristine cars — and it appears something sinister lurks within these masses of glass and steel.
