British comics publisher Rebellion announced at ComicsPro today that 2000 AD will return to American comic shops on a weekly basis beginning in May, in partnership with Lunar Distribution. It marks the first time in the anthology’s 49-year history that individual issues will be printed and distributed within the United States.
Under the new arrangement, American readers will receive issues of 2000 AD just two weeks after the UK on-sale date — an upgrade from the months we previously had to wait for copies. Issues will also no longer be poly-bagged. Retailers can begin ordering through Lunar’s March edition of its “Next Phase” catalog.

The Judge Dredd Megazine, the monthly companion title, will also now be available in the U.S. on a regular schedule through Lunar, along with seasonal specials like the 2000 AD Sci-Fi Special. The timing is good, as 2026 will see Judge Dredd caught up in a major crossover storyline spanning both the weekly 2000 AD and the Megazine, meaning you’ll will now be able to follow the full story as it unfolds on this side of the Atlantic.
Publishing since 1977, 2000 AD is a 32-page weekly anthology featuring five serialized stories per issue. Beyond Judge Dredd, it has been home to iconic series like Strontium Dog, Halo Jones, Nemesis the Warlock and ABC Warriors. It served as the launching pad for many creators’ careers, including Alan Moore, Grant Morrison, Dave Gibbons, Brian Bolland and Al Ewing. Current series running in the anthology include the cosmic horror of Brink, the vampiric Silver and the steampunk universe of Brass Sun.
