Sonic + The Justice League reunite for ‘DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion’

Ian Flynn and Adam Bryce Thomas return for the follow-up to one of DC’s biggest launches of 2025.

DC Comics and SEGA have announced DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion, a five-issue crossover series reuniting the Justice League with Sonic and his team. Writer Ian Flynn and artist Adam Bryce Thomas, the creative team behind the first crossover, return for the sequel.

The original DC x Sonic the Hedgehog series was a big success for DC last year, with the first issue going through multiple printings and retailers reporting sustained demand throughout the run. And hey, it got my kid to read comics again, which was great. He’s a big Sonic fan.

Metal Legion picks up on a thread teased at the end of that series, with mysterious mechanical rings appearing across both worlds and linking them together, setting the stage for a new round of hero team-ups with a sinister origin lurking beneath the surface.

“I had an absolute blast the last time around, and I’m really happy that little tease we left at the end of the first crossover is finally coming to fruition,” said Flynn. “I hope everyone enjoys this second go around as much as I did writing it!”
