IDW Publishing has entered into a partnership with Sanrio to publish Hello Kitty comics. The line launches with Hello Kitty: Hello World!, a new ongoing series written by Mariko Tamaki and illustrated by Cody Lemieux, arriving in July.

We can’t wait for these comics to bring inspiring and joyful stories to comic shops everywhere.”
The series follows Hello Kitty and friends on a world tour to solve a globe-spanning riddle, with new characters introduced in each issue as the gang travels to different locations. Tamaki is known for her Eisner Award-winning graphic novel This One Summer and DC’s Zatanna: Bring Down the House, while Lemieux’s comics featuring cute animals have appeared in the ShortBox Comics Fair.
Additional Hello Kitty titles and crossovers are planned for 2027, with further announcements expected soon.
