The Woods has been named “Outstanding Comic Book” by The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, or GLAAD, in their 2017 Media Awards.
The Woods, by James Tynion IV, Michael Dialynas, Josan Gonzalez and Ed Dukeshire is published by BOOM! Studios. It tells the story of Bay Point Preparatory High School, which was somehow transported to an ancient, primordial wilderness light years from Earth. It beat out nine other comics in the category, including All-New X-Men, Saga, Lumberjanes and the Love is Love anthology.
Tynion reacted to the win on Twitter:
Pretty low key evening at Wondercon, but between Rick & Morty S3 and winning a rad award, I am feeling pretty great NGL

As did Dialynas:
Thank you guys! This is a nice little touch now that we have a handful of issues to go <3
