Since announcing Marvel #1000, their big 80th anniversary special project with 80 creative teams telling one 80-page story, Marvel has released some additional details about the project. It’ll include some unexpected appearances in its pages, and not unexpectedly, a bunch of variant covers.

What is best in life?
After appearances in comics like Savage Avengers and Avengers: No Road Home, it’s not surprising that Conan the Barbarian will appear in the story. Robert E. Howard’s creation has a long history at Marvel, and his page/story will be written by Ralph Macchio and drawn by Marco Checchetto
Go see a Star War
More surprisingly than Conan is that Star Wars will also appear in Marvel #1000. Maybe it’s not too surprising, since Marvel and Star Wars are owned by the same company, but still — it’s not like Darth Vader has ever joined the Avengers or anything. Charles Soule and Terry Dodson will provide the Star Wars page.
Already a sequel?
Apparently an 80-page mammoth book isn’t enough, so Marvel announced Marvel #1001. It’ll continue the Eternity Mask story and will feature a whole bunch of creators: Al Ewing, Nick Spencer, G. Willow Wilson, Scott Aukerman, ACO, Brian Posehn, Howard Chaykin, Vita Ayala, Humberto Ramos, Audrey Loeb, Dario Brizuela, Ann Nocenti, Kim Jacinto, Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Conner, Declan Shalvey, Kaare Andrews, Amy Reeder, Natacha Bustos, Frank Tieri, Dan Panosian, André Lima Araújo, Bill Morrison, Trina Robbins and Marc Guggenheim.
