Here’s a round up of some of the best comics we’ve seen online recently. If we missed something, let us know in the comments below.
I shared an update from Uncivilized Books’ Tom Kaczynski a few weeks ago on the status of their operations and how they were doing after the protests in Minneapolis, where they are based. Kaczynski, who is also a talented cartoonist in addition to running the company, provided a comic strip update on how his 2020 is going. It’s done on sticky notes, and it details a year that’s about what you’d expect.
Ian McMurray, aka Ian M, self-publishes a comic-zine called Square. In this comic he posted to Tumblr, he talks about a friend of his who worked for an unidentified studio back in the 90s –a heyday for artist-driven comics. Although it isn’t clear who exactly his friend was working for, you can probably hazard a guess.
Oh hey, is that a guest artist for this week’s Funy Winkerbean? Why yes, yes it is — Love & Capes creator Thom Zahler served as “cover artist” for the Wayback Wendy comic that appeared today.
After a 10-year hiatus, the webcomic Kidnapped by Gnomes by Kathy Peterson made its return this week. “After 10 years of disappearing (for some dumb reason), we’re excited to be back,” the site reads. “Please enjoy the first two new KBG comics in 10 years. Twice weekly updates start July 7th.”
