Marvel’s first family is getting a reboot this summer, just as their big-budget Hollywood film hits the screen.
Current Fantastic Four and One World Under Doom scribe Ryan North will continue to tell stories featuring Reed, Sue, Ben, Johnny and the gang, and he’ll be joined by artist Humberto Ramos.
June’s Fantastic Four #33, appropriately retitled as Fantastic Zero, will be the final issue of the current series. The new series will find the team split up in time, as their battle with Doctor Doom finds each of them stranded in a different era.

“People often think of the FF in terms of family, and they’re not wrong, but I think there’s something really beautiful about friendship too, and we get to see that with these characters,” North told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s high-concept science fiction with real emotion. What’s not to like?”
Marvel shared more details on what to expect from the story:
Beginning during the events of One World Under Doom, also helmed by North, the Fantastic Four face Doctor Doom in a fight to save the world – until it suddenly goes catastrophically wrong, sending them to four different eras in Earth’s history. Alone and isolated in wildly different time periods, Reed, Johnny, Ben, and Sue all have to fight to survive.
Their only hope is to reach the Forever Stone: a mass of dense granite that happens to be one of the longest-lasting rocks on the planet, which – through a combination of obscurity and raw geologic luck – has stayed both intact and accessible for most of Earth’s history.
“I’ve been lucky to illustrate many of the most iconic superheroes in the universe, but this book felt different from the start,” Ramos said. “The weight of history and legacy of these characters lay upon your shoulders, no matter who you are or how you’ve worked in this industry.”
The first issue of the rebooted series arrives in July.
