Welcome to Can’t Wait for Wednesday, your guide to what comics are arriving in comic book stores, bookstores and on digital.

I’ve pulled out some of the highlights for this week below, but for the complete list of everything you might find at your local comic shop and on digital this week, you’ll want to check out one or more of the following:

As a reminder, things can change and what you find on the above lists may differ from what’s actually arriving in your local shop. With Diamond going through bankruptcy proceedings, distribution has become even more questionable, with deliveries and arrival dates changing. So check with your retailer to see what’s arriving at their shop this week.

Universal Monsters: The Mummy #1 (Skybound, $4.99): Skybound’s Universal Monsters line grows as they resurrect The Mummy for this four-issue miniseries, written and drawn by one of my favorite creators, Faith Erin Hicks. Skybound has done a great job of matching creators to the Universal Monsters, and that continues with Hicks, who has worked on everything from Dark Horse’s Avatar: The Last Airbender series to her own The Nameless City Trilogy and has an eye for character-driven stories about ancient civilizations. The miniseries will focus on Helen Grosvenor, a character from the original 1932 film who Imhotep, aka The Mummy, decided was the reincarnation of his beloved.

Batman #158 (DC, $4.99):  Speaking of villains wrapped in bandages, Hush is back this week. Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee return to the flagship Batman title for a sequel to their 2002 story arc that introduced us to Bruce Wayne’s childhood friend Thomas Elliot, who targeted his pal’s other identity as the villainous Hush. Titled Batman: H2sh, the story will run monthly for six issues through August.

X-Manhunt: Omega #1 (Marvel, $6.99): This extra-sized Omega issue wraps up the story of Professor X’s escape from Graymalkin Prison, where he had been since the “From the Ashes” line-wide reboot launched last year. It’s written by Gail Simone and Murewa Ayodele, with art by Gleb Melnikov and others.

Solomon Kane: The Serpent Ring #1 (Titan, $4.99): Patch Zircher writes and draws this new miniseries featuring Solomon Kane, as the Robert Howard character joins up with a band of rogues to find the Serpent Ring of Set.

Money Shot: Big Bang (Vault Comics, $5.99): This one-shot sets up the upcoming Money Shot series, serving to recap all the outer space sexual and relationship shenanigans seen in the series so far. It’s by a bangin’ gang of creators that includes Sarah Beattie, Tim Seeley, Patton Oswalt, Rebekah Isaacs, Caroline Leigh Layne, Gisele Lagace and Garth Graham.

Bitter Root: The Next Movement #1 (Image, $3.99): David F. Walker, Chuck Brown and Sanford Greene with a follow-up Bitter Root series set during the 1960s, as “a new generation of the Sangerye family must face a menace far worse than anything their ancestors ever encountered.”

Absolute Martian Manhunter #1 (DC, $4.99): Deniz Camp and Javier Rodríguez team up for the story of the Absolute version of J’onn J’onzz, who they present as the “ultimate alien” in the Absolute Universe.

Our Brilliant Ruin: Horror at Crane Mansion #1 (Dark Horse, $4.99): Cullen Bunn and Christopher Mitten bring the role-playing game of the same name to comics, as “an investigator for hire finds herself in deep when a simple job vetting a wealthy woman’s suitors becomes a death trap.”

Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 (Marvel, $4.99): Ryan North and John Romita Jr. kick off a series of one-shots featuring Godzilla’s return to the Marvel Universe for the first time in a few decades. In this one, he teams with the Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer against Galactus and his new herald, King Ghidorah.

Far Down Below #1 (Mad Cave, $4.99): Christopher Condon and Gege Schall head to East Pennsylvania in the summer of 1983 for this story of two friends exploring a haunted house.

You’ll Do Bad Things #1 (Image, $3.99): In this new comic from Tyler Boss and Adriano Turtulici, the author of a smash-hit true-crime book finds that his subsequent attempts to write fiction always end in a character’s death — and those stories are starting to come true.

Doom’s Division #1 (Marvel, $4.99): Yoon Ha Lee + Minkyu Jung bring the South Korean heroes known as Tiger Division into the One World Under Doom event, where they attempt to help keep the peace in his new world order.

Harley Quinn Fartacular: Silent Butt Deadly #1 (DC, $7.99): DC’s April Fools Day special for this year is by Joanne Starer, Ted Brandt and Ro Stein, who present the story you’d expect from the title — it’s about Harley Quinn and farts.

Red Sonja Attacks Mars #1 (Dynamite, $4.99): Jay Stephens and Fran Strukan bring together Red Sonja and Mars Attacks! for a crossover featuring adventure and dark comedy.

Kids #1 (Image, $7.99): Garth Ennis and Dalibor Talajic present the first horror one-shot from the new Ninth Circle imprint, which is about a world where all the kids under the age of one are replaced “by creatures beyond their mothers & fathers’ understanding.”

Pooluminati #1 (Marvel, $4.99): If you liked that one scene in Deadpool & Wolverine where they sliced and diced their way through a multiverse’s fill of Deadpools, this is the comic for you. It’s by Zac Gorman, Alexis Quasarano, Enid Balam and Todd Nauck, and it features all the Deadpools.

We’re Taking Everyone Down With Us #1 (Image, $4.99): Matthew Rosenberg and Stefano Landini’s new creator-owned series is about a girl who must decide her own path in life after a super-spy kills her mad scientist father.

Peacemaker Presents: Vigilante/Eagly Double Feature #1 (DC, $3.99): The MAX streaming series Peacemaker finds its way into comics with this miniseries that’s meant to bridge the gap between seasons one and two of the hit show. Each issue will include two stories — one featuring Vigilante by Tim Seeley and Mitch Gerads, and another with Eagly, Peacemaker’s pet Eagle, by Rex Ogle, Matteo Lolli and John Kalisz. James Gunn will serve as a story consultant for both tales.

Free For All (Oni Press, $7.99): Patrick Horvath’s crowdfunded graphic novel comes to comic shops courtesy of Oni Press. It’s set in a world where the world’s richest people are forced to either donate money to charity or face off in ritual combat to defend their millions.

Neptune (Dark Horse, $22.99): Michael Conrad and Nathan Ooten’s revenge tale, originally released by Comixology, comes to print courtesy of Dark Horse Comics.
