It’s 1982, and Frank Miller is drawing Wolverine. It’s 1987, and Frank Miller is writing Batman. It’s 2025, and Frank Miller is writing and drawing Wolverine and Batman.
Marvel announced in San Diego this week that the recent Eisner winner is, indeed, writing and drawing a story for the upcoming Deadpool/Batman one-shot that will feature Wolverine — the Old Man Logan version — and the Batman as seen in Miller’s classic Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. He also drew a variant cover featuring both characters:

In addition, Al Ewing and Dike Ruan are bringing two of the publishers’ space-faring characters together — Rocket Raccoon and Green Lantern.
“The pairing of Rocket Raccoon and Green Lantern felt very random when I was assigned it, but you can chart a line between any two characters that’ll take you through a kaleidoscope of connections between one universe and the other – and that’s what we’ve done,” Ewing said.
The two stories join the previously announced Daredevil/Green Arrow, Captain America/Wonder Woman and Jeff the Landshark/Krypto stories that’ll appear in the anthology. Marvel also shared two more variant covers by Russell Dauterman and Daniel Warren Johnson:


Deadpool/Batman #1 arrives Sept. 19, while the DC version, Batman/Deadpool, is arriving in November. We have not heard anything about that one yet, but hey, it’s Comic-Con, and isn’t there a Jim Lee panel today?
