DC + Marvel have more crossovers planned for 2026

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of their first team-up, DC and Marvel will bring Superman and Spider-Man back together for more crossover madness.

If you enjoyed the recent Deadpool/Batman crossover between DC and Marvel, then here’s some good news — the two publishers will continue to work together in 2026, releasing both reprints of past crossovers as well as new stories.

It’s not a surprise, really, as Entertainment Weekly revealed that the two publishers had plans for 2026 back when Deadpool/Batman and November’s Batman/Deadpool were announced. And now we know what those plans include — two new crossover books featuring Superman and Spider-Man, as well as reprints, or “fascimile editions,” of Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man #1 and Marvel Treasury Edition #28.

Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man, billed as “The Battle of the Century,” was first published in 1976 and featured the first crossover between the two companies’ characters — although previously they had co-published a Wizard of Oz special. It featured the work of writer Gerry Conway and artists Ross Andru and Dick Giordano, along with editors Carmine Infantino and Stan Lee. Although it featured a “let’s you and him fight” moment when Superman buys into the Daily Bugle’s hype around Spider-Man being either a threat or menace, they eventually team up to stop Lex Luthor and Doctor Octopus.

In 1981, the two heroes would meet again in Marvel Treasury Edition #28, which featured the work of Jim Shooter, Marv Wolfman, John Buscema and more. This time the two heroes would battle Doctor Doom and the Parasite, and the Hulk and Wonder Woman would also make appearances.

Each publisher will again publish a special, starting with Superman/Spider-Man from DC in March and Spider-Man/Superman from Marvel in April. Creative teams — and any additional stories the specials might contain — have not been announced. But I’d love to see some more Krypto/Jeff the Land Shark antics.
