BOOM! Studios and Hasbro will bring the fan-favorite franchise Jem and the Holograms back to comics in 2026. Expect all-new adventures featuring Jem and her friends, alongside a BOOM! Direct Reserve Campaign collecting the historic run of Jem and the Holograms comics, launching on Kickstarter this November.
The announcement coincides with the brand’s 40th anniversary and the release of new dolls from The Loyal Subjects.
“I was part of the team that brought Jem & the Holograms back to comics in 2015 and saw first-hand the positive impact our stories had on a broad and diverse community of readers,” said Michael Kelly, publisher of BOOM! Studios. “I could not be happier than to be working with Jerrica, Kimber, Stormer and the rest of the group (yeah, even Pizzazz) once again.”

Jem and the Holograms first arrived on the comics page back in the 1980s, when Marvel adapted the animated series. More recently, IDW launched Jem and the Holograms in 2015 with a more modern twist. The series, written by Kelly Thompson and illustrated by Sophie Campbell, ran for 26 issues and concluded in 2017. It was well-received for its contemporary take on the original animated series, featuring diverse characters and contemporary themes.
No creative teams or release dates for the new comics have been announced yet.
