As retailers discuss why the recent Batman/Deadpool isn’t selling as well as Deadpool/Batman, DC has announced the creative teams for next year’s Superman/Spider-Man crossover, which arrives in March.
Marvel was the first out of the gate with their crossover issue, as Deadpool/Batman came out in September, followed by the DC issue in November. For this next crossover, they’ll follow a similar plan, with each publisher releasing an anthology headlined by the title characters — only this time, DC’s will arrive in shops first. Marvel has not yet announced when Spider-Man/Superman will arrive.
The two publishers announced back in October that they planned more crossovers in 2026, starting with reprints of the issues where Spider-Man and Superman first met back in the 1970s. They also surprised announced a couple of digital crossovers last month on their respective digital platforms. After decades of staying on opposite sides of the streets, it’s fun to see that these crossovers have returned.

The lead story — which is about Peter Parker and Clark Kent chasing their own lead story — is by Mark Waid and Jorge Jiménez:
When journalists Clark Kent and Peter Parker find themselves chasing the same story, the conspiracy they uncover could change the world—especially if Brainiac and Doctor Octopus have anything to say about it. (And we bet they do!) Good thing our intrepid newshounds are secretly Superman and the amazing Spider-Man. To bring this clash of reporters‑turned‑heroes to life, Mark Waid and Jorge Jiménez join forces to headline DC’s Superman/Spider-Man #1 with an unforgettable lead story.
Other stories in the anthology include:
- Tom King and Jim Lee tell a tale of Lois Lane and Mary Jane Watson.
- Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber revisit Superman’s pal Jimmy Olsen and Carnage.
- Sean Murphy takes us to the future with the Legion of Superheroes-era Superboy and Spider-Man 2099.
- Gail Simone and Belén Ortega unite Power Girl and the Punisher.
- Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere show us that time when Superboy Prime (who reads all the comics, apparently, not just DC) decided to visit Spider-Man right after he got the black suit.
- Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott plot a race between the Daily Planet and the Daily Bugle.
- Jeff Lemire and Rafa Sandoval head into the past to show us Pa Kent and Uncle Ben bonding in the face of adversity.
And also like its predecessors, this issue will feature multiple variant covers by Jim Lee with Scott Williams and Alex Sinclair, Daniel Sampere and Tomeu Morey, Dave Johnson, David Nakayama, Gabriele Dell’Otto, Mikel Janín, Rafael Albuquerque, Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, David Talaski, Arthur Adams, Chrissie Zullo, Josh Middleton, Scott Koblish, Olivier Coipel, Adam Hughes, Mitch Gerads, Jeff Spokes, Evan “Doc” Shaner, Steve Lieber, J. Scott Campbell, Clayton Crain, Rafael Sandoval and more — some of which you can see below:
