Doctor Doom recruits South Korea’s Tiger Division to enforce his new world order

Yoon Ha Lee + Minkyu Jung bring the South Korean heroes into the One World Under Doom event.

Doctor Doom’s influence as the new sorcerer supreme will take an international flavor in Doom’s Division, a five-issue miniseries featuring the South Korean team Tiger Division. It ties in to the bigger One World Under Doom crossover event that kicks off in February.

Writer Yoon Ha Lee and artist Minkyu Jung will give the heroes a new mandate in the series, which comes at an interesting time in South Korea’s history. In other news, I hear Doom might be named Time’s “Man of the Year.”

“South Korea has a painful history, but we always overcome them, and this time, Marvel’s South Korean super hero team is facing tough times,” Jung said. “I can’t wait to see how they are going to show that spirit during One World Under Doom and I’m grateful to be a part of this event.”

Emily Kim and Creees Lee will chronicle new adventures for the team starting in November.

Following their introduction last year in Black Cat and Taskmaster, South Korean superheroes Tiger Division will debut in their own miniseries later this year. The five-issue series will be written by Emily Kim and drawn by Creees Lee.

“I’m so excited to be launching Tiger Division’s first limited series,” Kim said. “As a lifelong fan of comics, I never thought I’d get the chance to write for an all-Korean group. Hopefully it’s not the last and there will be many more Tiger Division stories to come.”
