WonderCon returned to Anaheim this weekend, and the crew behind DC’s Young Animal imprint were there for a panel on everybody’s favorite pop-up imprint. DC shared some of the highlights from the panel, including:
–Preview art! Bug: The Adventures of Forager, kicks off May 10; here’s a look at some of Mike Allred’s artwork for that issue:
–In addition, Doom Patrol writer Gerard Way revealed that Allred will also draw an issue of Doom Patrol, which is due out in July. Way also took to Instagram to give an update on the future of the series following reports of DC putting the title on hiatus:
I’ve heard some chatter but don’t worry Doom readers, the series is alive and well. I’ll be talking about Doom Patrol and the rest of Young Animal all weekend at WonderCon. We are going to take the time to tell the best stories. And, there are absolutely many more issues to come, as Nick and I have lots of plans.
—Cave Carson Has a Cybernetic Eye … and a new back-up starting in issue #7: “The Wonderful World of Rocks” by writer Mark Russell (The Flintstones, Prez) and artist Benjamin Dewey (Autumnlands). Who doesn’t like rocks?
