Author Marieke Nijkamp and artist Enid Balám will bring Kate Bishop back to New York for a new five-issue miniseries. Hawkeye: Kate Bishop, which also features Pizza Dog, will debut in November.
“I love Kate,” Nijkamp told Bustle. “I love her snark. I love the way she jumps first and asks questions later, but somehow still always finds a way out.”
Here’s the description from Marvel: Following a stint in Los Angeles, HAWKEYE: KATE BISHOP picks up at a turning point in Kate’s life when she returns to New York after being convinced by many friends, and a few clues from the case she’s working, to come back to the East Coast. When Kate gets invited to a resort to solve a mysterious jewel heist, she sees it as a confidence-boost, a sign that she’s making the right decision and not going to backslide into her past. The case is perfect…and it’s almost definitely a trap.
Nijkamp is the author of the novels This Is Where It Ends and At the End of Everything, as well as The Oracle Code graphic novel for DC. Balám is the artist of Marvel’s recent Reptil series. You can check out some of his character designs below:
