Marvel reopens the ‘Crypt of Shadows’ this October

Just in time for Halloween, Marvel will present an anthology of horror stories by Adam Warren, Chris Cooper, Al Ewing, Geoff Shaw and more.

Marvel will dust off an old 1970s title this October, as the Crypt of Shadows once again opens its door for horror, mayhem and fun.

The one-shot anthology will feature stories by Chris Cooper, Al Ewing, Danny Lore, Rebecca Roanhorse, Adam Warren, Chris Condon, Karen S. Darboe, Geoff Shaw, Ibrahim Moustafa and more. They’ll tell stories featuring Moon Knight, Wolverine, Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, Werewolf by Night, Morbius and Bloodline, the recently introduced daughter of Blade.

Here’s the description from Marvel.com:

The heroes of the Marvel Universe spend most of their time in the bright sun, flying high above it all… but every once in a while, they venture into the darkness that lurks in the hidden corners of the world—there lurk the creatures, the monsters, the vampires… the ones who prey on innocence and goodness…

The original Crypt of Shadows ran for 21 issues between 1973 and 1975. Each issue featured reprints of stories from earlier Atlas Comics horror titles like Adventures into Terror and Strange Tales, featuring pre-Marvel era work by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and others.

Look for it in stores on Oct. 19 … if you dare!
