Today we have an exclusive first look at the trailer for Black Cat Social Club, fresh twist on the story of musicians selling their soul to the devil, coming out on April 25 from Humanoids. Take a look:
Written by Christopher Painter, best known for his work in animation, television, and films, with art by Bob Quinn, coloring by Meg Casey and Fred C. Stesing, and lettering by Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, Black Cat Social Club follows a band that gets their big break when a band member sells her soul to a demon, but as always in these stories, success comes with a cost—in this case the possibility that it may be contributing to the end of the world. Fortunately, band members Alice, Hazel, and Maggie are more than up to the challenge.
The Humanoids folks liken it to Josie and the Pussycats, but with more demons, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, if Buffy fronted a band, and that sounds about right. The book goes on sale on April 25, but you can check out our preview right now.
