Today at the New York Comic Con, Marvel shared more about the upcoming Gang War crossover that’ll run through Amazing Spider-Man and related titles.
The crossover, which kicks off in December after a month of set-up in November, was first announced this summer at the San Diego Comic Con. The story will feature the gang lords of New York, including the Owl, Hobgoblin and Mr. Negative, as well as factions like AIM and Hydra, waging war against each other. It’ll be up to two Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, as well as She-Hulk, Spider-Woman, Daredevil and more, to stop them.
At NYCC, Marvel announced that Mary Jane Watson will get involved in the war, starring a Jackpot one-shot by Celeste Bronfman and Joey Vazquez. It features a cover by Pablo Villalobos, and it hits stores on Jan. 17:
Jackpot isn’t the only new — or is that “new”? — hero getting involved. Spider-Boy, whose ongoing title starts in November, will get involved via a Marvel Unlimited story by Preeti Chhibber and E.J. Su. Here’s a preview:
Finally, the action continues in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man in January and February, which lead up to the event’s conclusion. Here are the covers and details for Amazing Spider-Man #41-43, which feature John Romita Jr. drawing a reunited Kingpin and Typhoid Mary (a character Romita co-created with Ann Nocenti; his version will always be the definitive one to me).
