Welcome to Crowdpuncher, where we round up cool comics crowdfunding campaigns. If you’re looking to support a creator or project directly, you’ve come to the right place.
Derek Laufman, creator of the excellent RuinWorld and many other comics, shared a new webcomic called Crimson Fall: Lambs of God not too long ago. It’s about Sir Duncross, a former-knight-turned-mercenary who stands between the surface world and “what lurks beneath the surface of this horrid land.”
The comic can be read online or bought in print from Laufman’s store, and now he’s returning to this world for a new graphic novel that he’s crowdfunding: Crimson Fall: The Shore Tower.
While the webcomic had Duncross facing demons beneath a church, now he’s traveled to an island to help them with their monster problem:
Sir Duncross, the infamous monster hunter and his humble scribe Father McKellen are hired to kill the fabled monster of Shore Tower Island. However, the secrets of the island run deep and when the power of an ancient god is unleashed they soon learn they are the ones being hunted.

If you were curious to know more about Agatha back when she was a witch who had a body, then this book is for you:
From the creator of Head Lopper (Image Comics), ApocalyptiGirl (Dark Horse), Snarlagon (Laser Wolf Attack), and Godzilla: War for Humanity (IDW), Andrew MacLean brings his quirky sense of humor and knack for over-the-top action to this return to his fantasy world of Narschlahn. Blüd City Street Fight
Creators: Erik Whalen
Platform: Zoop
Deadline + Goal: $3,000 by Sept. 20
Erik Whalen has created and self-published several comics, which you can find on his website, but now he’s taken to Zoop to crowdfund a new wrestling comic that isn’t exactly a wrestling comic, according to the creator.
“I love siege movies and wrestling, and one day thought, what if a professional wrestler had a literal death match to get out of an impossible situation,” he wrote on the project’s Zoop page. “Luckily, I remembered I draw comics and did it myself. Then, naturally it spiraled out of control and I built a whole world out of it.”
The comic tells the story of a retiring wrestler who gets pulled into one last fight:
Professional wrestler ‘Bulletproof’ Jack Stallion is celebrating his retirement match in Blüd City. As Jack is leaving his party, a woman is being abducted in the alley. That woman is the mayor of Blüd City, and only professional wrestling can save them. Jack may be retired, but the death match is just beginning.

A digital copy of the 48-page comic will cost you $10, while a print copy is $20.

Breakneck
Creators: Mark Bertolini and James Boulton
Platform: Zoop
Deadline + Goal: $3,500 by Sept. 27
Mark Bertolini and James Boulton’s Breakneck is a superhero story told from the super villain’s point of view. It follows “the world’s crappiest supervillain,” Ethan Shade, as he’s pursued by every superhero in the world.
“Breakneck was my first-ever published work, published by 215 Ink in the year 2010,” Bertolini said.” We released three single issues through Diamond and then a collected volume that included the fourth issue. But life got in the way, and all members of the team got busy with other pursuits, and we left Breakneck behind – but it was never far from my thoughts, and continued to be a popular book at conventions. Recently uncovering the finished fifth issue, the idea of bringing Breakneck back in a gorgeous new volume was too good to pass up! Hopefully we can introduce Breakneck to a whole new group of readers who enjoy goofball superhero antics.”
What’s the deal?
For $20, you can a digital copy of the trade paperback, while the deluxe hardcover costs $40.
