DC K.O., DC’s big event series that will feature heroes and villains battling in a tournament for the honor of becoming “King Omega” and gaining the power to match Darkseid, will continue in December with a number of specials and tie-in issues in their regular titles.
DC previously announced the participants for the tournament, and December will bring a number of match-ups as the storyline progresses. Also, fights! Expect lots of brawling, according to Scott Snyder, the co-architect of the event (along with Joshua Williamson).
“When Josh and I were coming up with K.O., we realized that there’s a point in the story where this big tournament all the characters are taking part in would have an all-out brawl section,” said Snyder. “So the result of that is a whole month of slugfests fans have speculated about for decades. These are one-shot special issues that tie into the main story of DC K.O. and show the brutal face-offs between friends and foes alike. Some results will shock you, some may thrill you, but that’s what this event is all about. Knock down, drag out, brutal fun.”

December, aka “Fight Month,” will include the following tie-ins and specials”
- DC K.O.: Superman vs. [REDACTED] #1 by Joshua Williamson and Sean Izaakse, with a cover by Jorge Corona. A fight so explosive it you won’t want to miss it!, the press release says, and the cover might be revealing Lobo’s arm? Maybe? (Dec. 3)
- Aquaman #12, written by Jeremy Adams with art and cover by John Timms. Friends become foes in a battle with cataclysmic consequences! (Dec. 10)
- DC K.O.: Wonder Woman vs. [REDACTED] #1, written by Joëlle Jones, drawn by Jason Howard with a cover by Jorge Corona. (Dec. 10)
- Titans #30, written by John Layman, wit art and cover by Pete Woods. It’ll feature Cyborg, who is entered in the tournament. (Dec. 17)
- DC K.O.: Harley Quinn vs. [REDACTED]#1 written by Leah Williams with art by Mirka Andolfo and a cover by Jorge Corona. (Dec. 17)
- The Flash #28 by Mark Waid and Christopher Cantwell with art by Vasco Georgiev and a cover by Dan Mora. (Dec. 24)
- Superman #33, written by Joshua Williamson with art and cover by Hayden Sherman. It looks like this issue will feature Lex Luthor vs. an unnamed opponent. (Dec. 24)
- DC K.O.: Red Hood VS. [REDACTED] #1, written by Scott Snyder and Joshua Williamson with art by Dustin Nguyen and cover by Jorge Corona. It says this one will be “ruthless” and “personal,” and since Joker isn’t listed as a participant, my guess is he’s facing off with Batman. (Dec. 24)
DC plans to reveal the “redacted” opponents at the New York Comic Con next month. Check out the eight themed covers below:
In addition to the “Fight Club” issues, two other comics will tie into DC K.O. as well: Knightfight #2 by Joshua Williamson and Dan Mora, and Justice League Unlimited #14 by Mark Waid and, again, Dan Mora:
In DC K.O. Knightfight #2, Bruce Wayne’s battle through a gauntlet of future Batmen is on! Each former Robin has shaped Gotham City into their own vision of justice, and if Bruce can make his way past Dick Grayson, he’ll face the darkest one yet. Will he survive the most violent aspects of his own legacy? Or will Batman’s greatest failure destroy him and the city he’s sworn to protect? It’s a literal battle for the cowl—and for the fate of the DC Universe—as the all-star creative team of Joshua Williamson and Dan Mora turns up the heat!
Update: In addition to Mora’s main cover, I added the variants by Guillem March and Jorge Molina.
In Justice League Unlimited #14, as the time-displaced heroes fight for their lives against the towering might of the demonic Neron, Mr. Terrific descends into the cold vacuum of space! But this time it’s by his own design…can Michael Holt team with the rogue agent behind Justice League Red to purge all emotion and coldly calculate the fate of humanity? Grab the tissues, everybody—this issue’s about to break some hearts!
Update: Added variant covers by Stevan Subic, Sanford Greene and Kevin Wada.
Knightfight #2 arrives Dec. 3, while JLU #14 comes out Dec. 24.
