Building on the success of this year’s Zorro Remastered Kickstarter campaign, Alien Books has announced two new miniseries starring the legendary masked avenger, both set to debut in 2026.
“We’re building something truly special for both Zorro and comic book fans,” said Alien Books Editor-in-Chief Matias Timarchi. “It’s a dream come true to be working with creators of this caliber.”

The first, simply titled Zorro, arrives in April from Howard Chaykin and Jorge Fornés, pitting Don Diego de la Vega against the forces of Napoleon Bonaparte in a swashbuckling historical showdown.
“I grew up with Zorro, the television series, the comics, the Fairbanks and Power pictures–and loved them all,” Chaykin said. “I’m delighted to have had the opportunity to tell a Zorro story that takes our hero on an adventure a world away from the hills of San Capistrano.”

Then in June, Zorro’s Legacy by Dan Abnett and Aaron Lopresti brings the legend into the modern day, following a descendant of Zorro in Los Angeles as he struggles to live up to his heroic lineage in a gritty, street-level tale.
“Zorro is a great hero, and his legacy is as relevant as it’s always been,” Abnett said. “And Aaron’s a great artist. It’s a pleasure to be working with him to explore this classic character and carry that legacy forward into new adventures and daring exploits for today’s readership.”
Both series are being produced in collaboration with Zorro Productions, Inc. and will be distributed through Alien Books’ partnership with IDW Publishing.
