Ignition Press launches supernatural action thriller ‘Bad Thoughts’ in May

Ignition Press will publish Bad Thoughts, a new series from writer Ande Parks (Extraction) and artist Dave Wachter (Godzilla), beginning May 27. The series follows Jack Coates, a private security operative with the ability to look inside people’s minds and see every terrible thing they’ve ever thought or done, a gift that serves him well until he puts his trust in the wrong people.

Colors are by Brad Simpson, with covers by Wachter, Fernando Blanco and a 1:10 retailer incentive by Phil Hester inked by Parks.

Dynamite Entertainment launches Lilo & Stitch: 626 anthology series in May

Dynamite Entertainment will publish Lilo & Stitch: 626, a three-issue anthology series timed to 626 Day, the fan celebration of the Disney character whose original experiment designation was 626. The first issue arrives in May and features two stories: Daniel Kibblesmith and artist Elisa Pochetta reveal the secret origin of Agent Cobra Bubbles as imagined by Lilo, while George Kambadais writes and draws a tale of Captain Gantu stranded on an Old West-styled planet.

Subsequent issues will spotlight other cast members including Nani, Jumba and Pleakley, with contributions from Chuck Brown, Jeff Parker, Edwin Galmon and others. The series wraps in July, bookending the 626 Day celebration.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #300 launches new storyline with Gene Luen Yang and Freddie E. Williams II in July

IDW Publishing will mark Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #300 in July with the launch of a new storyline, “The City That Never Dies,” by writer Gene Luen Yang and artist Freddie E. Williams II. The story picks up with Splinter having returned from the dead, with IDW promising major consequences for the broader TMNT Universe.

The milestone issue also features a back-up story by co-creator Kevin Eastman and longtime series writer Tom Waltz, illustrated by a roster of classic TMNT artists spanning the franchise’s many eras. The issue will also have a blind bag program featuring multiple versions of a never-before-seen cover by original co-creators Eastman and Peter Laird, a J. Scott Campbell variant and additional surprise covers. Eastman also drew a variant, shown above in both color and black and white.

Titan Comics returns to Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus with new arc in May

Titan Comics will launch Blade Runner: Tokyo Nexus — To Lose Is to Win #1 on May 6, continuing the adventures of Mead and Stix following the conclusion of the first arc. Written by Nancy A. Collins, who also wrote Blade Runner: Black Lotus, with art by Mariano Taibo, the new story finds the pair hunted by their old commanding officer, Uldren, who wants them dead before they can expose his treachery.

The series also features bootleg Replicants and the fallout of a Yakuza civil war. Covers are by Junggeun Yoon, Dani and Brad Simpson, Piotr Kowalski and Taibo.
