Noto + Duggan team for a solo ‘Cable’ title

The mutant from the future leaps into a solo title again in March.

Cable is the latest mutant to get his own title in Marvel’s “Dawn of X” line, which seems to be expanding in ways we haven’t seen since … well, probably since the mutant explosion of the 1990s.

And by Cable, of course, I mean the young teenage version — Kid Cable — who has been running around the various X-titles since Extermination. Gerry Duggan will team up with Phil Noto for these new adventures of Cyclops’ favorite son.

“I’m thrilled to be back working in the X-Universe and very happy to get the band back together with my buddy, Gerry Duggan,” Noto told Marvel.com. “Cable’s always been a favorite of mine and it’s fun to work in a painterly style again ala Black Widow. Very excited for people to read this book. I think we’re doing something really special. Stay tuned!”

Here’s Marvel’s description for the new series:

Cable has always been destined for greatness, whether that be saving mutantkind, sparking rebellion, or both! But why wait? That destiny starts right here, right now! And as no stranger to taking promising young mutants under his wing, expect to see some of your favorite younger X-Men like Pixie and Armor along for the ride!

The adult Cable first appeared in New Mutants #87, courtesy of Rob Liefeld and Louise Simonson. Since then he’s appeared in various X-titles like X-Force, as well as his own solo title on numerous occasions. Look for the first issue of the new title in March.
