BOOM! Studios will sell a Pride Month charity cover for Fence: Redemption #1 this month on their webstore, featuring artwork by LySandra Vuong.
The cover is limited to 750 copies, and all proceeds from it will be donated to The Trevor Project.
“BOOM! Studios is proud to make a charitable donation to The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people,” the publisher said in a statement. They also announced an additional “Pride Celebration” variant cover for the issue by Keyla Valerio, which was released to shops last week:
Fence: Redemption #1 by C.S. Pacat and Johanna the Mad is available in stores now. You can check out a first look at the second issue, due out in July, on their website.
Dark Horse + YouNeek announce THE ASIRI
As a part of their ongoing publishing agreement, Dark Horse and YouNeek Studio have announced a new graphic novel, The Asiri Vol 1. The 128-page graphic novel features writing by YouNeek founder Roye Okupe, interior art by Samuel Iwunze, colors by Toyin Ajetunmobi, letters by Spoof Animation, and cover art by Sunkanmi Akinboye and Etubi Onucheyo.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of sci-fi stories with expansive worlds that still manage to tell a very character-driven story. My goal with The Asiri is no different. The Asiriverse is a massive world with larger-than-life (sometimes quite literally) heroes, villains and people yet to decide. However, at the heart of this behemoth of a universe is a character-driven story centered around two best friends—a pacifist king and his warmongering general,” Okupe said.
The graphic novel will arrive in March of next year.
Meet The Stitcher
Marvel has revealed Ryan Stegman’s cover for the final issue of Ghost Rider/Wolverine: Weapons of Vengeance, the big Wolverine/Johnny Blaze crossover that will take place in the past and present. The cover reveals The Stitcher, the supernatural villain they thought they vanquished who returns with a … vengeance.
Take a look inside Tenement
Image Comics has revealed additional variant covers and preview pages from Tenement, the new miniseries by Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino that’s part of their Bone Orchard Mythos line.
In Tenement, Lemire and Sorrentino bring fans the story of seven residents in a building and the dark secrets that bind them together…beginning with a death that feels much more sinister than natural.
The first issue arrives June 21.
The Major comes to America
Dark Horse will bring Moebius’ The Major to English-reading audiences for the first time next year. Moebius Library: The Major features writing and art by legendary creator Jean “Moebius” Giraud, translation by Diana Schutz and lettering by Adam Pruett, and it will arrive in stores next February.
Fallen Friend: The Death of Ms. Marvel
So Ms. Marvel actually being killed off in an issue of Amazing Spider-Man as part of a story she had little, if anything, to do with is a thing that actually happened. So … yeah. As a result, Marvel will release Fallen Friend: The Death of Ms. Marvel by G. Willow Wilson, Saladin Ahmed, Mark Waid, Humberto Ramos and more in July. Here’s a look at the main cover as well as three variant covers — one of which homages The Death of Captain Marvel, for obvious reasons.
Norse Mythology collected
Dark Horse will release The Complete Norse Mythology in November, which will include volumes 1-3 of the comic series based on the book by Neil Gaiman. It was adapted into comics by P. Craig Russell and a host of artists that includes Mike Mignola, Mark Buckingham, Sandy Jarrell, Colleen Doran and more.
Alligator Loki collected
Loki must be getting ready to return on Disney+ because I have not just one but two Loki-related items this time around. First up is the collection of Alyssa Wong and Bob Quinn’s Alligator Loki comic from Marvel Unlimited. It arrives in September.
“Alligator Loki’s been living in my head rent-free for the past year,” Wong said. “It’s been a ton of fun working with Bob Quinn, Pete Pantazis, and Kat Gregorowicz to bring him to life in the Infinity comic. I’m thrilled that this little guy’s shenanigans are coming to print!”
Miss Minutes variant covers
And second, here’s a bunch of variant covers coming in August that feature Miss Minutes, the lovable little clock from Loki. It must be about “time” for Loki‘s return, eh? Eh?
Who’s got the covers?
All right, I guess that also means it is “time” to jump into the variant covers. I’ve featured Mark brook’s Corner Box variant covers before, but here are two more for July’s X-Men #24 and Avengers #3:
DC Pride is getting a second printing in July, and here’s Oscar Vega’s variant cover for it:
The Hellfire Gala approaches, and with it comes several variant covers for the one-shot:
Finally, here’s a look at all the covers for Captain America #750, a milestone issue featuring stories by J.M. DeMatteis, Dan Jurgens, Gail Simone, Collin Kelly and Jackson Lanzing, Carmen Carnero and more.
