DC unveils new Absolute Universe series, ‘Teen Titans’ and Gotham event ‘Bad Seeds’ at ComicsPro

The publisher also revealed release dates for more of its Vertigo titles and two new DC Next Level titles arriving this summer

DC Comics used its ComicsPro presentation Thursday in Glendale, Calif. to unveil a packed slate of new titles and events coming in the second half of 2026, including two new Absolute Universe series, a major Gotham City crossover event and the next wave of its DC Next Level initiative.

So much stuff here I’m gonna use subheads … so you know it’s serious.

Absolute Universe

DC officially announced two new ongoing series set in its red-hot Absolute Universe — although both have been hinted at already. Absolute Green Arrow by writer Pornsak Pichetshote and artist Rafael Albuquerque arrives May 20, followed by Absolute Catwoman by Che Grayson, Scott Snyder and artist Bengal on June 10.

DC also teased that the first-ever Absolute Universe event miniseries will arrive in Q4 2026, with details to follow.

DC Next Level

DC confirmed two more Next Level titles will arrive this summer: Barbara Gordon: Breakout by Mariko Tamaki and Amancay Nahuelpan in May, and The Deadman by W. Maxwell Prince and Martín Morazzo in June.

They join previously announced Next Level titles still on the calendar include Lobo #1, Batwoman #1 and Deathstroke: The Terminator #1 on March 18, The Fury of Firestorm #1 on April 8 and Zatanna #1 on April 29.

DC also revealed the Next Level series Teen Titans, launching this summer from Kyle Higgins and Daniele Di Nicuolo, the team behind Power Rangers: Shattered Grid. The series follows Red Hood as he uncovers a network of missing powered teenagers and reluctantly joins a new generation of young heroes to find them. Additional Next Level titles mentioned at the meeting include Legion of Super-Heroes, Doom Patrol, Jonah Hex, The Demon and Batman: Shadow of the Bat, with creative teams and launch dates to be announced.

‘Bad Seeds’

DC shared a first look at “Bad Seeds,” a Gotham City event arriving in Q3 2026. The storyline finds Gotham police commissioner Vandal Savage flooding the streets with a para-militarized private police force, while the city’s new mayor, Pamela Isley, makes a desperate last-ditch power play that threatens to transform all of Gotham into a hostile primeval landscape of plant life. The Bat-Family is hunted and in hiding as the city faces decimation. Further details will be announced in the coming months.

DC Vertigo

DC also updated its DC Vertigo rollout for the remainder of 2026. Following titles already in stores, the summer will bring 100 Bullets: The US of Anger and Fanatic, with Necretatious and Black Tower: The Raven Conspiracy arriving in fall. Winter 2026 will see The Crying Doll and A Walking Shadow round out the imprint’s first full year since its return.
