DC’s Next Level goes next level in September with ‘Legion of Super-Heroes,’ ‘Teen Titans’ and ‘The Doom Patrol’

Who’s your favorite super team?

DC’s September solicitations are making the dream work with not one, not two but THREE new team titles. Teen titles? Yeah, that too, as both Legion of Super-Heroes and Teen Titans return to the publishing slate.

The launches follow all the other recent Next Level titles, including Batwoman, Lobo, Deathstroke: The Terminator, Firestorm, Zatanna, Barbara Gordon: Breakout and The Deadman, with a couple more — The Demon and Jonah Hex — waiting in the wings.

“These books are set in continuity,” said DC co-architect Josh Williamson, who is also writing the Legion title. “While the series will be independent reads and not heavily tied to other books, they will exist alongside DC’s ongoing comic book series like Superman, Batman, Justice League Unlimited and more.”

Not sure we needed that clarification, but ok … well, maybe we did? Several of DC’s September titles seem to have a new moniker in front of them, ie All In Batman, All In Batgirl, etc. Maybe they’re trying to avoid confusion with the red-hot Absolute Universe.

So let’s take a look at each new title, all of which come out Sept. 2 …

DC unveils new Absolute Universe series, ‘Teen Titans’ and Gotham event ‘Bad Seeds’ at ComicsPro

The publisher also revealed release dates for more of its Vertigo titles and two new DC Next Level titles arriving this summer

DC Comics used its ComicsPro presentation Thursday in Glendale, Calif. to unveil a packed slate of new titles and events coming in the second half of 2026, including two new Absolute Universe series, a major Gotham City crossover event and the next wave of its DC Next Level initiative.

So much stuff here I’m gonna use subheads … so you know it’s serious.

Tom Taylor + Daniele Di Nicuolo explore Arthurian legends in a new series at DC

‘C.O.R.T.: Children of the Round Table’ will kick off in September.

Now this is interesting — DC has announced a new series by Tom Taylor and Daniele Di Nicuolo, and it doesn’t involve Batman, Superman or any of their existing characters. C.O.R.T.: Children of the Round Table draws from the legend of King Arthur, and Taylor called it “the first original IP in periodical form at DC Comics.”

I’m guessing he meant that it was his first original IP at DC, because DC has published things like Cinder and Ashe, Watchmen and Camelot 3000 in the past, which were also original stories set outside the regular DC Universe. But it’s not something we see on the regular these days.

The new series will introduce “an elite force known as the Camelot Corps,” which has “protected ancient secrets, waiting for the day when these myths are needed by the world. That day is today.” Colorist Rain Beredo and letterer Wes Abbott round out the creative team.

“Like King Arthur asleep in a mountain, waiting for the day he will wake, CORT has been in my mind, and in my drafts folder, for a long time,” said Taylor. “These brave young heroes will finally rise, and I couldn’t imagine anything more perfect than to partner with Daniele Di Nicuolo and DC Comics to bring them to the world. DC has some of the greatest heroic teams on the planet, like the Justice League and the Titans. Now a new team of champions is coming to take on a tyrant: the Children of the Round Table.”

Starfox slides into your DMs — and ‘Judgment Day’ — in October

A.X.E.: Starfox puts the spotlight on Thanos’ creepy brother.

Starfox, the former Avenger with the creepy powers who is also Thanos’ brother, will get a one-shot this fall as part of Marvel’s big AXE: Judgement Day event.

Kieron Gillen, writer of both the Eternals series and Judgement Day, will write the one-shot, with Daniele Di Nicuolo on art.

“A new Eternals-related special has been announced, with me working with the kinetic powerhouse that is Daniele Di Nicuolo,” Gillen said in his newsletter. “While it’s part of Judgment Day, this is effectively the fourth of my deep dive Eternals specials.”

Taylor + Di Nicuolo have ‘Seven Secrets’ to share in August

BOOM! Studios will publish a series about “seven powerful secrets” that could change the world.

Tom Taylor and Daniele Di Nicuolo are teaming up for a new series about “seven powerful secrets” that could change the world.

Seven Secrets #1 will arrive from BOOM! Studios in August, by the writer of The Deep and Suicide Squad, and the artist of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

“I can’t wait to share one of the most ambitious stories I’ve ever been a part of with every comic reader out there.
