Clover Press is back with another of their high-end art books, this time focused on the artwork the late Michael Turner created for DC Comics. And today we have an exclusive first look at the dust jacket for the book, which will be funded through Kickstarter.
The DC Art of Michael Turner is the third volume in Clover Press’ The DC Art Of… series, following The DC Art of Jorge Jimenez and The DC Art of Bruno Redondo. It’s also a nice companion piece to The Marvel Art of Michael Turner, which Clover Press published in 2024.

The 200+ page hardcover will collect Turner’s cover and interior work from comics like Superman/Batman, The Flash, Identity Crisis and Justice League. The book features an introduction by Geoff Johns, with contributions from Jeph Loeb, Brad Meltzer and Dan DiDio. Kickstarter-exclusive items include a slipcase and dust jacket (shown above), a sketchbook edition featuring black-and-white artwork, an ashcan comic and DC Portfolio sets spotlighting Turner’s takes on Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, and the Flash.
The wildly popular artist co-created Witchblade at Top Cow in 1994 before launching his creator-owned series Fathom in 1998, which became the best-selling comic of that year. His DC work in the early 2000s, particularly his interior and cover art on Superman/Batman, introduced a new generation of fans to Supergirl. Turner died in 2008 at the age of 37 from complications from treatment for bone cancer.
“Mike’s work really energized the DCU when he was creating covers and interior work at DC. It really made the projects he chose something extra special and inspired his peers to take things to the next level,” said Hank Kanalz, Clover Press publisher. “Bringing so much of his work together in one book is definitely something extra special.”
