Welcome to Can’t Wait for Comics Wednesday, your guide to what comics are arriving in comic book stores, bookstores and on digital. And yes, with DC’s announcement last week that they plan to return to a Wednesday release date for their comics every week, I am proactively changing the name of this feature back to its original moniker — even if the change won’t occur until July.

‘Spider-Punk’ returns for an encore performance in February

Cody Ziglar and Justin Mason return for more adventures starring Hobie Brown.

Marvel is getting the band back together for another Spider-Punk miniseries, by the reunited Cody Ziglar and Justin Mason. They worked on the previous miniseries starring Hobie Brown, which came out last year.

“Y’all, it feels so friggin’ cool to dive back into Earth-138 with Justin and explore the world of Hobie and the Spider-band even more!” Ziglar said. “There’s some new additions to the Spider-Punk roster, some real dope villains, and some other cool stuff I don’t wanna spoil… but absolutely cannot wait for folks! And yes, there’ll 100% be a Spider-Punk Playlist Vol. 2!”

April’s Marvel’s Voices anthology will focus on the Spider-Verse

The anthology returns with new stories featuring Miles Morales, Silk and more.

Marvel has announced that their April Marvel’s Voices anthology will focus on a specific character family — Spider-Man and his, um, Amazing Friends. Marvel’s Voices: Spider-Verse will arrive in stores April 5.

Marvel has shifted their approach to their Marvel’s Voices anthology series, as they continue to expand the brand into different places. In addition to adding new digital stories under that banner to Marvel Unlimited, they’ve now announced two anthologies focused on specific character families. Marvel’s Voices: Wakanda Forever will land in February, just in time for Black History Month.
