Dec. 5 is the 40th anniversary of the cult classic Flash Gordon film and to celebrate, King Features is doing a host of activities, like re-releasing the film, launching a motion comic and doing a comic strip anthology. Creators like June Brigman, Liniers, Erica Henderson and Tana Ford will participate in Flash Forward and create strips featuring the space-faring hero.

MAD contributor and Dirtnap creator Kerry Callen has set up an online store where he’s selling T-shirts he’s designed — and he’s channeling some classic comics in doing so.
“I love reading old, public domain comics, and I often wish I had a cool shirt or two,” Callen said on his blog. “Not a mere old panel on product, but something actually DESIGNED. So, I decided to make a few myself and place them on TeePublic.”

Halo and Sprocket creator Kerry Callen has launched a new webcomic, Dirt Nap, an “adventurous romp starring old-school, iconic monsters, but with un-iconic twists.” He plans to post new pages twice a week.
“It’s a story of monsters, tragedy, adventure and humor,” Callen wrote on his blog. “It will run approximately 160 pages and along the way we’ll encounter vampires, zombies, ghosts, werewolves, and maybe even a mermaid or two.” It sounds like he’s more than halfway finished with it as well, as he states he’s completed over 100 pages thus far.
