In San Diego today, DC held their “What’s Happening in the DC Multiverse” panel, revealing a few new projects coming this fall as a part of the All In initiative.
In terms of new projects, Jeff Lemire was on hand to talk about returning to the DC Universe to write a new Justice Society of America title and Absolute Flash, which joins Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman in the fledgling universe.
Lemire will work with artist Nick Robles on Absolute Flash. “The series will be part of DC’s new Absolute Universe where we get to reimagine the classic heroes from the ground up,” Lemire said in his newsletter. “Our series will follow a teenaged Wally West.”
On JSA, Lemire is working with artist Diego Orlotegui on what he called his “all-time favorite superheroes.”
He also shared two interlocking variant covers he’s working on with Dave Stewart for the first two issues:
Ram V also attended the panel to announce he’s working on a New Gods series with Evan Cagle, which will debut in December.
Our own Carla Hoffman was on the scene and sent some pics from the presentation:
The JSA title will feature not only the classic members shown in the first slide, but also an Infinity Inc. team of younger members like Jade, Obsidian, Sand and more.
During the DC Gotham panel, DC revealed more about The Last Halloween, the sequel series to Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale’s The Long Halloween. Sale passed away before they could work on it together, so Loeb will be joined by a different artist for each issue of the 10-issue series. We learned earlier this year that the first three issues would be drawn by Eduardo Risso, Klaus Janson and Mark Chiarello, and today DC shared the other eight artists:
So the line-up will also include Cliff Chiang, Becky Cloonan, Chris Samnee, Matteo Scalera, Bill Sienkiewicz, Dave Johnson and Enrico Marini.
