Congratulations to Kill Your Darlings creators Ethan S. Parker, Griffin Sheridan and Bob Quinn, who have won the 2024 Ignyte Award in the “Outstanding Comics Team” category.
The annual awards program “celebrate the vibrancy and diversity of the current and future landscapes of science fiction, fantasy and horror by recognizing incredible feats in storytelling and outstanding efforts toward inclusivity of the genre.” It’s sponsored by FIYAH Magazine, the quarterly Black speculative fiction magazine.
The Image Comics series is about an eight-year-old with an overactive imagination who discovers the world she’s created in her mind isn’t quite so imaginary. The series kicked off last September and ran for eight issues, with a collected edition arriving last July.
Kill Your Darlings was up against four other nominees in the category, including Whisper of the Woods by Ennun Ana Iurov; Brooms by Jasmine Walls, Teo DuVall, Bex Glendining and Ariana Maher; Mage and the Endless Unknown by S.J. Miller; and Suee and the Strange White Light by Ginger Ly and Molly Park.
You can view the winners across all categories on the Ignyte website.
