Both series will kick off in July.
Two movies that are now several decades old will get sequels of sorts in comic book form, as DC has announced the digital series Superman ’78 and Batman ’89.
Screenwriter Sam Hamm, who wrote the 1989 film Batman and its first sequel, Batman Returns, will write Batman ’89. The Dc Digital First series will be drawn by artist Joe Quinones.

DC Comics has revealed more details on the planned Milestone Media relaunch, which includes plans to re-release the Milestone Returns #0 comic released during DC FanDome with additional material, as well as digital-first series featuring Static, Icon, Rocket and Hardware.
“Since the FanDome panel, Reggie , Denys , and our editorial team have been working incredibly hard to bring this new Milestone to life,” said Jim Lee, DC publisher and chief creative officer. “It’s been exciting to see fresh and contemporary takes on the Dakota universe coming together; I think that both new fans and old will be pleased with the results.”

A classic anthology series from DC will get a digital makeover in April, as the publisher has announced the return of Legends of the Dark Knight.
The new series will kick off with a six-part story written and drawn by The Boys artist Darick Robertson, featuring a new foe who sells deadly chemicals to Gotham’s worst villains.
“Dream come true,” Robertson said on Twitter. “I’m writing and drawing one of my favorite characters ever.”

Chip Zdarsky, Miguel Mendonça and Enrica Eren Angiolini will explore what happens after the Justice League breaks up in Justice League: Last Ride, a DC Digital First series coming in April.
After an “unthinkable tragedy,” the League split up, but the universe’s greatest murder trial pulls them back together. “It’s about the Justice League being cut down at their height, about hard decisions and friendship,” Zdarsky said in his email newsletter. “They’re brought together for the universe’s greatest murder trial in the hopes that they can create a universe that no longer needs a Justice League.”

When DC relaunched their DC Universe Infinite service last month, they promised exclusive content for subscribers. Today brought the first DCUI-exclusive comic, titled Let Them Live!: Unpublished Tales from the DC Vault, featuring a “lost” Suicide Squad story by Jim Zub, Tradd Moore, Felipe Sobreiro and Nate Piekos.
The story will be the first of several released by DC under this title, which seems like a way for them to clean out their files and share comics that were commissioned but never published. In fact, each issue will feature a framing sequence by Elliott Kalan, Mike Norton and Marissa Louise starring Ambush Bug — who has taken a job as a night janitor at the DC offices, where he finds the unreleased comics and provides commentary.
Future issues will include:
Jesse Holland, Doug Braithwaite and more will contribute stories to the anthology series.
DC’s Represent!, a digital-first series that debuted last fall with a story about Christian Cooper’s encounter with a racist dog owner in Central Park, will return in February with five weekly issues.
DC created the series to “showcase and introduce creators traditionally underrepresented in the mainstream comic book medium.” They also offer non-fiction/slice of life stories versus the traditional superheroes you might expect from the publisher.
“Represent! is the kind of innovative and personal storytelling I’ve always believed in,” said Marie Javins, DC editor-in-chief. “Throughout history, stories have been catalysts to expand hearts, minds and culture; having the chance to do so with this group of talented writers and artists has been invigorating and has been embraced throughout DC.”
Each issue will cost 99 cents and will be released on Mondays on comiXology and DC’s other digital platforms beginning Feb. 1.

DC’s revised and rebranded comics subscription service, DC Universe Infinite, will officially launch this Thursday. Formerly known as DC Universe, the service will feature comics, as its video programming, like Titans, Doom Patrol and the Young Justice cartoon, have all moved over to HBO Max.
In addition, the community forum can be found outside the app at community.dcuniverseinfinite.com, while the store will also live at a new web address: https://shop.dccomics.com/. It’s up and running with several T-shirt designs, masks and more.
DC Universe Infinite will be available for iPhone, iPad, Android Phone and Tablets and online for web and mobile web at dcuniverseinfinite.com. Some platforms it was on before, like Apple TV and XBox, for example, no longer carry the app as of last month.
So, for the service itself, that leaves comics, and DC is adding a whole bunch of them to the service this week.

Sensational Wonder Woman will be a “reader-friendly, high action series,” according to the press release, featuring the star of DC’s latest film. It’s also just in time for her 80th anniversary.

Peter J. Tomasi, who wrote DC’s previous two series starring Jonathan Kent and Damian Wayne, will once again bring Superboy and Robin together for Challenge of the Super Sons.
The DC Digital First series will debut Dec. 14. Joining Tomasi for the 14-part series are artists Max Raynor, Jorge Corona and Evan Stanley, with Raynor set to draw the first chapter.
“Stories about Jon and Damian at this time in their lives allows me to tap back into those early years of my own life of being a crazy kid, while also allowing me to mine the fertile ground of my own son’s current adventures, which in turn helps keep me tapped into the general zeitgeist of today’s youth and what they’re going through and thinking about,” Tomasi said. “Jon and Damian are so different—the angel and the devil on your shoulder so to speak—with each one having such a distinctive backstory and perspective that the drama between them is organic and damn easy to bring to life on the page. The One You Feed, a new title by Donny Cates (Thor) and Dylan Burnett (Ant-Man) has debuted on Panel Syndicate.
The “fantasy terror tale” will be a five-issue miniseries, released digitally on the site in their standard “pay what you want format,” like they’ve done with previous titles like Friday, Barrier and The Private Eye.
