Daredevil & Echo reunite in a new miniseries by Taboo, Earl + Noto

Echo is back to her old self as she teams with Daredevil to fight an ancient evil beneath New York.

Fresh off of Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Black Eyed Peas member Taboo and co-writer B. Earl will continue their tour of the dark side of the Marvel universe in Daredevil & Echo, which will feature the return of the Demogoblin and an ancient evil that lives underneath New York City.

Echo, who has been rockin’ the Phoenix Force over in Avengers, is back to her normal self in this four-issue miniseries that’ll feature artwork by the incomparable Phil Noto.

“First off, Benny and I are blessed and thankful to be continuing our journey as Marvel writers,” Taboo said. “It’s an honor to be rocking this new Daredevil project along with the amazing mighty matriarch Echo. We are about to have a blast bringing the heat to Hell’s Kitchen! Can’t wait for the world check out this crazy ride! One love!”

Spider-Man’s gonna have a busy Fall

Marvel reveals more about the upcoming ‘Dark Web’ event, plus Gold Goblin, Hallow’s Eve and more.

As the temperatures cool down, the Spider-Verse will heat up — in San Diego this week, Marvel shared details on several Spider-Man related titles and events that will keep the wall-crawler busy through the end of the year.

First let’s talk about Dark Web, the Spider-Man/X-Men crossover event spearheaded by Zeb Wells that involves the Goblyn Queen and Chasm, aka Ben Reilly. The story will begin in “prelude” issues throughout November (in Amazing Spider-Man, for example), followed by December’s Dark Web Alpha #1 where Wells will be joined by Adam Kubert to kick things off in earnest. From there, the story continues in Amazing Spider-Man as well as various tie-in one-shots and limited series.

Marvel released the cover for Dark Web Alpha, by Ryan Stegman. Here’s his line art:

Taboo + B. Earl + Ferreyra team for ‘Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man’

Marvel announces a new Spider-Man series that features the return of the New Mutants’ Demon Bear.

During a virtual event earlier this week celebrating Spider-Man’s 60th anniversary, Marvel announced Deadly Neighborhood Spider-Man, a new miniseries by writers Taboo and B. Earl, and artist Juan Ferreyra.

According to Marvel Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski, the story will feature the return of the Demon Bear, the malevolent entity first introduced by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz during their stellar run on New Mutants.

“Being the first Indigenous writer to co-write this new Spider-Man comic with my brother B. Earl is a huge step in opening more doors for underrepresented talent to shape universally known comic characters,” Taboo told SYFY WIRE. “As a lifelong fan of everything Spider-Man, this is a childhood dream come true.”
