Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto’s ‘Daredevil’ plans spill out into the rest of the Marvel Universe this December.
The latest boiling point in the eternal conflict between the Kingpin and Daredevil will arrive in December, as New York Mayor Wilson Fisk decides to take aim at the rest of the Marvel Universe’s heroes in Devil’s Reign.
Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto, who have been killing it on the ongoing Daredevil title, are the creative team behind the crossover event’s main miniseries, which will run for six issues. Marvel promises that it will be a “classic” crossover, spilling over into other Marvel titles and setting the stage for new ongoing series as well. Which makes sense, given that the regular Daredevil title will end right before the event begins.
“Our Daredevil plan just kept getting bigger and bigger, to the point where it would clearly affect the Marvel Universe in huge ways,” Zdarsky said. “Thankfully, Marvel recognized this as well and gave Marco and I the opportunity to tell the story on a massive stage with Devil’s Reign. This is a proper Marvel event springing from the pages of Daredevil and I think all Marvel readers will love what’s coming!”

Daredevil, Fantastic Four, She-Hulk and more have new projects lined up at the House of Ideas.
Marvel revealed today eight new titles for the coming winter that they’re referring to as “tentpole” titles — or titles that “will shape the future of the Marvel Universe in the months to come.”
Marvel announced earlier this month plans to reveal several new projects today in celebration of their birthday — so, Happy Birthday, Marvel!
The projects range from event titles to new ones featuring some characters you’ll soon see on Disney+.
Here’s the lowdown on the eight titles:

Chip Zdarsky and Manuel Garcia will present an oversized final issue, while Marvel plans an announcement for Aug. 31.
Daredevil seems to bring the best out in its writers; from Frank Miller and Ann Nocenti to Ed Brubaker and Mark Waid, the title has enjoyed several epic, career-defining runs in its history. It’s really been no different for Chip Zdarsky, who has worked with artists like Marco Checchetto and Manuel Garcia to tear down Matt Murdock’s life, create a new one for Elektra and, of course, help the Kingpin find new love.
All that comes to a head in November’s oversized Daredevil #36, which Marvel says is the last issue of the current run, but not Zdarsky’s final issue of Daredevil.
“I know writers like to say things like, ‘It’s all been building toward this!!’ but, really, it has,” Zdarsky told Marvel.com. “When I sat down to write issue one, I knew that this issue was waiting and that it was going to drastically alter the lives of the Daredevil cast. Issue 36 is NOT an ending, it’s a beginning.”

New team takes over in February.
Writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Marco Checchetto will chronicle the adventures of Daredevil starting February, Marvel.com revealed this week.
The new team follows Charles Soule and Phil Noto’s run on Matt Murdock’s alter-ego — a run that ends with a storyline called The Death of Daredevil.”
“A lot of writers in the past have left Daredevil in terrible situations at the end of their runs,” Soule said in a promotional video released by Marvel in September. “Brian Michael Bendis put him in prison for Ed Brubaker to handle; Mark Waid, who preceded me, had Daredevil in San Francisco, his secret identity was blown, he wasn’t a lawyer anymore. I had to handle all of that. So, I wanted to carry on in the tradition of leaving Daredevil in the worst spot imaginable, and letting the next writer somehow deal with this impossible problem that Matt would never get out of. And I wanted to make mine the biggest one that has ever been done.”
