The ‘Beyond Riverdale with Archie Comics’ panel during NYCC’s Metaverse brought news on upcoming comics releases.
Archie Comics announced several new comics projects today in conjunction with the virtual New York Comic Con, including a new partnership with the popular webcomics site Webtoon, a South Side Serpents one-shot and more details on the upcoming Riverdale: The Ties That Bind graphic novel.
The virtual version of the New York Comic Con, a.k.a. Metaverse, kicked off today, with virtual panels, exclusive merchandise and more. You can join in on the Metaverse website or on the New York Comic Con YouTube page, where all of today’s panels are available.

New series from the IDW imprint features an amnesiac-for-hire.
IDW’s Black Crown imprint heads undercover for their latest limited series — Eve Stranger, the story of “a formidable young woman with unnatural abilities and a repeatedly wiped memory, available to the highest bidder under the threat of exploding nanobombs in her bloodstream.” Kind of like AEon Flux meets the Suicide Squad.
“Imagine if you were the best in the world at pretty much everything. Super-spy. Assassin. International rescue. The jobs nobody else can — or is willing to — take on. Now imagine if you couldn’t even remember that you saved the world last week, and that you have to do it all again today… or you’ll die. Welcome to the world of Eve Stranger,” said co-creator and writer David Barnett.

Artwork for ‘Assassinistas,’ ‘Kid Lobotomy’ and more revealed at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
Yesterday in San Diego Shelly Bond announced three more titles that’ll launch in a few months from her Black Crown imprint at IDW Publishing, joining the already-announced Kid Lobotomy. If you’re curious what those titles will look like, wonder no more and check out some art below.

New comics by Tini Howard, Gilbert Hernadez, David Barnett and Martin Simmonds, plus an anthology, set to debut after ‘Kid Lobotomy.’
When Shelly Bond’s Black Crown comics line was announced earlier this year, we were told “Black Crown” not only referred to the line’s name, but also to a pub that would anchor this shared, creator-owned universe.
