Marvel teases the vampire-themed crossover ‘Blood Hunt’ for next year

The stakes are high in this new event series by Jed MacKay, Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracia.

Avengers writer Jed MacKay and acclaimed X-Men artists Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracia will team up next year for a battle between Marvel’s heroes and the undead, as Blood Hunt signals the arrival of “the long night” and an emboldened nation of vampires.

Hickman + Schiti will redefine the ‘G.O.D.S.’ in the Marvel Universe

The new title will debut in the fall, with a preview arriving on Free Comic Book Day.

Marvel has announced G.O.D.S., a new series from Jonathan Hickman and Valerio Schiti that will “build a new Marvel mythology overflowing with daring concepts, intricate systems and fascinating new characters.”

It sounds right up Hickman’s alley, based on his work on Fantastic Four, Avengers and his 3 Worlds/3 Moons publishing line on Substack. This is something he’s been planning since he first came back to Marvel to tackle the X-Men, and it “feels like something old, but pushes the Marvel Universe in an exciting new direction.”

“When I came back to Marvel a few years ago, I wrote two series bibles. The first was House of X and the other one was G.O.D.S.,” Hickman told Marvel.com. “To say that I’m excited to finally be able to share this story with everyone is a massive understatement. G.O.D.S. takes place in its own special corner of the Marvel Universe — in the cracks that lie at the intersection of science and magic — and revisits some characters and concepts that we’ve reimagined for a more modern, continuity-driven audience.”

Marvel officially announces the event series ‘Judgment Day’

Kieron Gillen and Valerio Schiti will bring together the X-Men, Avengers and Eternals for a symphony of destruction.

Marvel will bring together the X-Men, the Eternals and the Avengers for Judgment Day, a crossover series coming this summer from Kieron Gillen and Valerio Schiti.

The story will revolve around conflict between the Eternals and the X-Men, as the latter target Krakoa and the Avengers try to play peacekeeper. With Gillen already writing Eternals and Immortal X-Men on deck, it makes sense that he’d bring them together — and write his first event series for Marvel.

“There’s a classic metaphor to describe the Marvel Universe – a toybox, which creators take toys out of, play with and put back. I get it, but it’s never quite how I’ve seen it – I think ‘play’ in another way. I think of a music shop, with all these instruments with their different qualities suggesting different songs, different stories,” Gillen said. “For all the Marvel instruments I’ve played, I’ve never written an event. Writing an event is something different. It’s not like playing an instrument. It’s having all the instruments in the Marvel music shop. That’s not like writing a song. That’s like writing a symphony.”

Marvel reveals the new X-Men line-up

The new roster will debut in ‘X-Men’ #1 this July, by Gerry Duggan, Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracia.

Following the reveal earlier this week of who won the fan vote, Marvel has revealed the roster of the new team of X-Men that will debut during the upcoming Hellfire Gala storyline.

The team will headline the relaunched X-Men title, which debuts in July from Gerry Duggan, Pepe Larraz and Marte Gracia. The new team will be based in New York City, according to Duggan.

“It’s my privilege and honor to be reteamed with Pepe Larraz as we throw beautiful and deadly threats at the X-Men beginning in July,” Duggan said. “Mutants have saved themselves, and are now going to save the world. Krakoa will grow roots in the capital of the world, New York City, and the inaugural year will star Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Rogue, Wolverine, Synch, Sunfire, and Polaris. The threats to Earth will come fast and hit hard, and every page from Pepe and Marte will blow your hair back. See you in July.”
