Welcome to Can’t Wait for Comics, your guide to what comics are arriving in comic book stores, bookstores and on digital this week. It’s a quieter week for sure containing less debuts and less comics overall than your typical Wednesday..

Timeless #1 (Marvel, $5.99): Get a glimpse of the future of the Marvel universe in this one-shot by writer Jed MacKay and artists Kev Walker, Mark Bagley and Greg Land, as they offer a look at upcoming developments for the X-Men, Daredevil, Venom, the Avengers and all the major players in the Marvel pantheon in a story starring Kang.

Swamp Thing: Green Hell #1 (DC, $6.99): Jeff Lemire, Doug Mahnke and David Baron take Swamp Thing to the end of the world in this new DC Black Label series, as Alec Holland fights for the fate of humanity against the Parliaments of the Green, the Red and the Rot.

Wastelanders: Star-Lord #1 (Marvel, $3.99): Old Man Quill is featured in this one-shot by Rich Douek and Brent Peeples, as he searches for his lost love on a desolated Earth.

Devil’s Reign #2 (Marvel, $4.99): Marvel’s crossover event pitting the Kingpin against the heroes of New York continues with an issue focused on the Kingpin’s Thunderbolts.

Stray Dogs: Dog Days #1 (Image Comics, $4.99): Tony Fleecs and Trish Forstner’s pack of dogs return for this two-issue miniseries, which features short stories about each of the canines.

Power Rangers Universe #1 (BOOM! Studios, $4.99): Nicole Andelfinger and Simone Ragazzoni bring you the origin of the Phantom Ranger in a story that “will delve into the deepest origins of the Power Rangers Universe.”

Dune: A Whisper of Caladan Seas #1 (BOOM! Studios, $7.99): Writers Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson team up with artist Jakub Rebelka to tell a story set during the Battle of Arrakeen. A group of soldiers get trapped behind a cave-in, leaving Sgt. Vitt to tell them a story to distract them from their certain doom.

The Sword of Hyperborea #1 (Dark Horse, $3.99): Mike Mignola, Rob Williams and Laurence Campbell present the secret origin of the Hyperborean blade, detailing its history in the Hellboy-verse.
