During a panel at this weekend’s L.A. Comic Con, Marvel announced two extra-sized doses of the Spider-gang that will arrive in stores next March.
Spider-Gwen will get the Giant-Size spotlight in Giant-Size Spider-Gwen by Melissa Flores and Alba Glez, while Miles Morales will celebrate 300 issues in the oversized Miles Morales: Spider-Man #18 by Cody Ziglar and a host of artists, including Sara Pichelli and Federico Vicentini.
“To be completely honest, it’s very surreal to be able to write Miles’ 300th issue,” Ziglar said. “This is a character I’ve been following and rooting for for almost 12 years now. There’s so much crammed into this issue and I’m forever grateful that I have been trusted to continue to carry the torch for Miles after [Brian Michael] Bendis and [Saladin] Ahmed.”
According to Marvel, this issue will “cement” Rabble as Miles Morales’ arch-enemy:
Miles Morales is in for the fight of his life! Rabble has stepped from the shadows of “Gang War” for a rematch, and she’s sworn bloody revenge against Brooklyn’s wall-crawler! But this time, Rabble’s out-of-control powers and desperation have her poised to obliterate far more than just Spider-Man’s life. Don’t miss this thrilling story by sensational lineup of Spider-Creators with fabulous guest stars, twists and turns, and revelations that will send your Spider-Senses reeling!
Miles Morales: Spider-Man #18 arrives March 27.
Giant-Size Spider-Gwen will continue the story of Ghost-Spider in her home dimension, Earth-65. Here are the details from Marvel:
Swinging from the pages of Spider-Gwen: Smash, Gwen Stacy has finally found some balance in her home dimension. But when the remnants of the Carnage symbiote resurface in Gwen’s bandmate Mary Jane, they attract the attention of something…sinister. Orlando Octavius, the adopted son of Dr. Octopus, now has his sights set on MJ. And Spider-Gwen will have to save her friend from a gauntlet of new and terrifying villains in this oversized spectacular!
“Helping Gwen Stacy settle into her home dimension in Spider-Gwen: Smash was an incredible pleasure,” Flores said. “Being given the opportunity to continue to develop those relationships in this one-shot was an unexpected jolt of euphoria that I never saw coming. I wasn’t ready to leave Gwen or Earth-65 behind, and I’m so thankful that now I don’t have to!”
Giant-Size Spider-Gwen comes out March 6.
